In a world where iPhone apps proliferate faster than we can download them—many of them momentary novelties of which we quickly tire—we’ve found a charming little game that is currently the number -one paid app in 49 countries. It’s called Angry Birds, and it is a hands-down-on-your-touch-screen winner among simple strategy games.
The idea is to assist a flock of egg-bereaved birds in their quest for revenge against a pog of pigs bunkered in increasingly complex structures of wood, glass and stone. For each level, you have 5 birds queued up to be launched from a sling shot at a structure containing one or more pigs. The fewer birds you use to destroy the pigs, the more points you accrue.
